Scope of Work – Creative Designer

 

Background

 

The five-year Poverty Alleviation and Inclusive Development across Rural Sindh (PAIDAR) project is funded by the European Union and Implemented by United Nations Industrial Development Organizations (UNIDO) to support the Government of Sindh (GoS) in the implementation of its Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS).

 

Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees (SPHF), the government entity established to reconstruct the 2.1 million houses in Sindh, has collaborated with the PAIDAR programme to support the targeted improvements of basic infrastructure in pre-identified villages within selected districts of Sindh province, for four districts Sujawal, Thatta, Badin, and Tharparkar.  SPHF (with technical assistance of CRS) is developing Climate Resilient Settlement Development Plan (CRSDP) for PAIDAR programme in four districts.

 

As per the agreement between SPHF and CRS, CRS on behalf of SPHF as technical partner, will engage and hire the required human resources, arrange the administrations, logistics and consultancy services and conduct orientations and trainings for accurate data collection, assessment, and analysis. All the final payments for goods and services will be made by SPHF directly per CRS policies and recommendations.

 

 

Objective

 

The objective of this consultancy is to support the PAIDAR CRSDP in 04 districts and CRS in required graphic and content designing to ensure quality branding of platform and its partners and effective Information Communication Materials (IEC), Visibility materials, website display, presentation, publications design are produced.

 

 

In line with this SoW objective, the consultant is responsible for:

 

  • Meet with in-house clients as part of the creative team to establish direction, plan development and communicate concepts, design, production strategies and schedules.
  • Work with production coordinators, managing art director and outside vendors to gather and communicate information for the coordinated and efficient development and production of assigned projects.
  • Creates and designs communication materials in consultation with production coordinators.
  • Keep project and digital asset files in accordance with CS storage and archival protocols.
  • Maintain ongoing development of essential skills and knowledge including software, pre-press systems and techniques, commercial printing and paper, postal requirements, etc.
  • Consultants should be proficient in Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

 

Deliverables:

 

The consultant will be paid monthly upon completion of above deliverables and submission of monthly report per section 2.

 

Deliverables

  1. Develop required info-graphics and documents for CRSDP of 4 districts.
  2. Develop presentation and IEC Materials for CRSDP and Lakho Bhunbhro project.
  3. Required banners and flyers.
  4. Settlement Planning-Report design for PAIDAR.
  5. Other graphic-content designs as required.
  6. Design for Settlement planning guidance documents
  7. Event flyers and social media and content
  8. Publications of documents and other design as required.
  9. Design standard presentation slides.
  10. Other graphic-content designs as required. 

 

Reporting relationships

The Creative Designer will report and work closely with the Program Manager who will lead and supervise the project. They will also have working relationships with the National Coordinator, Technical Advisor or any other responsible project staff. During the assignment, organization will provide transport to/from field.

 

Duration of contract

Contract duration for the assignment will be approximately 03 months and duration may increase or decrease depending upon the completion of task.

  • Must be able to assure confidentiality of respondents’ personal information.
  • Able to build rapport with respondents to ensure that they remain motivated and interested in answering questions truthfully.
  • Understandable knowledge of English
  • Proven experience in communication strategy development and implementation.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital communication tools.

Education

  • Bachler’s in related field from any recognized University with 4-5 years of experience.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications requirements:

  • 4-5 years previous work experience on same assignment.
  • Have working knowledge advance technologies.
  • Must have in-depth questioning, active listening and reporting skills.
  • Must have delivered similar projects before and Submit proof of completion
  • Attachments of similar reports.

 

 

The official transportation will be covered by CRS Pakistan. The field visit travel and per diem will be covered by CRS Pakistan per CRS policy and procedures.

 

Note: This is office-based consultancy with based location in Karachi.
