THE POSITION:
This position is located at Head office in Quetta and reports to the Manager Finance
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE POSITION:
S/he will be will be responsible for supporting the implementation of financial procedures and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for assigned projects, as directed by the Manager – Finance & Accounts.
More Specifically:
- Assist the Manager – Finance in the preparation of periodic financial reports and reconciliations.
- Ensure that 100% of financial transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP system, including:
- Correct account classification
- Donor/project allocation
- Compliance with cost-sharing requirements
- Accuracy and completeness of amounts, supported by documentation
- Adherence to organizational policies (e.g., staff advances, per diems)
- Authorization in accordance with defined financial manual limits
- Appropriate period allocation
- Review and verify:
- Payment documents for completeness prior to processing
- Payroll prepared by HR in line with donor requirements
- Adjustments in payroll against contracts, notifications, and relevant supporting documents
- Cheques issued for advances, procurements, operational costs, and salaries
- Review bank reconciliations prepared by the Finance Assistant and ensure consistency with ERP records.
- Support in budget allocations and requisition charging for projects.
- Address staff and field team queries related to salaries and operational budget heads.
- Track advances released for operations and salaries, ensuring timely reconciliation and compliance with the finance manual.
- Maintain proper financial records and ensure receipt of 100% of district vouchers for centralized recordkeeping.
- Submit financial reports to management for internal review.
- Prepare budget variance analysis reports for assigned projects.
- Support the Manager – Finance in preparing re-appropriations and budget revisions as required.
- He/she will frequently visit district offices for capacity building of finance staff by providing technical back stopping
INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS internally with all functional departments within organization.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Master’s degree in Commerce (M. Com), Business Administration (MBA), Public Administration (MPA), CA – Inter / ACCA Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounts with a reputable NGO/INGO.
