Job Purpose:

The Database Officer will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and updating project database to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable information for reporting, decision-making, and program planning. The role involves data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization related to field assessments, beneficiary tracking, and project activities in flood-affected areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain project databases using MS Excel, Access data management tools.
  • Enter and verify collected field data from various sources (assessment forms, beneficiary lists, monitoring reports).
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency through regular cleaning and validation checks.
  • Generate analytical reports, summaries, and dashboards for management and donors.
  • Support the MEAL team in compiling, visualizing, and interpreting data for decision-making.
  • Coordinate with field teams to ensure timely submission of assessment and beneficiary data.
  • Maintain secure and confidential data storage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and confidentiality standards.
  • Support documentation and archiving of data and reports for audit and reference purposes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in database management, preferably in humanitarian or development projects.
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Access, and database systems.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and produce accurate reports.
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills.
