Job Purpose:

The JPC Intern will assist the Job Placement Cell in building and maintaining partnerships with employers and industries to identify job and internship opportunities for trained youth. The role involves supporting data management, employer coordination, employability workshops, and market surveys. The intern will also assist in career counselling sessions, entrepreneurship support, and event organization to enhance trainees’ employability and promote self-reliance.

 Duration: 3 Months

Main Responsibilities & Tasks:

1. Trainee Database Management

Assist in maintaining and updating trainee records in the MIS database on a monthly basis.

Track trainee progress and employment outcomes.

Support the development of a CV bank of trainees by trade and share it with potential employers.

Maintain and update the database of employers and institutions for placements.

Conduct basic market surveys and record findings in MIS.

Compile trainee information, including socio-demographic and placement details.

Assist in developing and documenting success stories of employed or self-employed trainees.

2. Job Search and Placement

  • Support job searches through online platforms, field visits, and networking.
  • Share job and internship opportunities with trainees via SMS, phone calls, and social media.
  • Visit employers to introduce the organization and strengthen placement linkages.
  • Assist trainees in creating online job profiles and completing assessments.
  • Help connect trainees with local and international job markets.
  • Support trainees in exploring self-employment and small business opportunities.

3. Training & Development

  • Assist in organizing employability skills workshops for registered trainees.
  • Support the facilitation of mock interviews, resume writing, and job search training sessions.
  • Help assess trainee competencies and prepare them for job placements.

4. Career Counselling

  • Support counselling sessions for trainees regarding JPC services and career development.
  • Guide trainees on job readiness, internships, and volunteer work opportunities.
  • Provide orientation to walk-in clients about JPC services.

5. Industry Linkages & Promotion

  • Assist in developing connections with industries such as digital marketing, graphic design, hospitality, renewable energy, agriculture, and value chain development.
  • Help organize and participate in job fairs, university visits, and promotional events.
  • Support regular communication with employers to maintain positive relationships.

6. Events and Planning

  • Assist in planning and organizing in-house interviews, job fairs, and promotional events.
  • Support the development of work plans, budgets, and activity reports for the JPC.
  • Help coordinate training and networking sessions for alumni and high-performing trainees.
  • Prepare and submit weekly updates, monthly progress reports, and quarterly summaries.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the supervisor or management.
