Position Title: Fashion Designer

Location: Islamabad

Position Overview:
We’re looking for a bold, boundary-pushing Fashion Designer who isn’t afraid to reimagine what fashion can look like in Pakistan. As part of a growing startup clothing brand, you’ll be responsible for designing garments that are not only high-quality and beautifully crafted, but also concept-driven and culturally fresh. We’re not interested in recreating what already exists—we want originality, storytelling, and a distinct visual language. Key Responsibilities:

1. Design & Conceptualization:

• Create original, on-trend dress designs that align with the brand's vision, target audience, and seasonal trends.
• Develop design sketches, technical drawings, and mood boards for new collections.
• Experiment with different fabrics, colors, cuts, and stitching techniques to create unique and stylish designs.
• Work closely with the creative team to maintain a consistent aesthetic across all designs.
• Stay updated with fashion trends and competitor designs to ensure your creations are relevant and innovative.

2. Fabric & Material Selection:

• Research and source fabrics and materials that fit design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with fabric suppliers to ensure the selection of appropriate materials based on comfort, durability, and sustainability.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure fabric quality meets the brand’s standards and adheres to ethical production practices.

3. Quality Control & Production Oversight:

• Conduct regular quality checks at various stages of production (fabric, design, final product) to ensure there are no defects, and it is meeting quality standards.
• Collaborate with manufacturers/tailors to ensure all dresses are produced on time, within budget, and to the expected quality level.
• Develop and maintain quality control guidelines for all dress designs, including sizing, fit, fabric quality, and finishing.

5. Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with the brand team to ensure the designs align with the brand's messaging and customer needs.
• Participate in product photoshoots and provide guidance to photographers to showcase dresses effectively.
• Communicate design ideas clearly to the production team and ensure smooth collaboration throughout the design-to-production process.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in fashion design, preferably within the women’s wear industry (experience in startups or small fashion brands is a plus).
• Proficient in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or other design programs.
• Strong knowledge of fabric types, stitching techniques, and garment construction processes.
• Excellent sketching and technical drawing skills.
• Attention to detail with an eye for quality and precision.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Passion for fashion, sustainability, and quality craftsmanship.
• Knowledge of garment manufacturing processes, from concept to production, is a plus.
